Once an old hotel on a quiet downtown street, The Ashley is now being converted into upscape residences in the lively corner of Harmony Park.
Originally developed as the Henry Clay Hotel in 1917, the building was converted to The Milner Hotel in the 1930's and operated as such until the doors closed on October 31, 2012. The ten-story hotel, situated on the quaint tree-lined Centre Street, was the oldest continuously operated hotel in Detroit’s history, and enjoys one of the best locations within the city limits.
The transforming of the historical hotel into a mid-rise apartment building that is now known as The Ashley is well under way. Apartments will consist of one and two bedroom homes with the top floor hosting the penthouses!
Location is the key component to The Ashley, which is within walking distance of the Detroit Athletic Club, Ford Field, Comerica Park, Fox Theater, Detroit Opera House, and numerous restaurants, shops, and nightclubs. The Detroit People Mover, located just a block away, also provides quick and inexpensive transportation to other downtown venues.
